The conference will be organized by the Polotsk City Executive Committee, Lead partner of the project. Apart from the project partners which include Latgale Region Development Agency (Latvia), Vitebsk Centre for Regional Research and Development, Institution “Interaction” and seven district executive committees of the Vitebsk region, the conference will feature representatives of Ministries and administrations, diplomatic missions, regional and local authorities of Belarus and Latvia, as well as NGOs, educational institutions, mass media and tourist agencies of the Vitebsk and Latgale regions. Press conference will take place at 11.30 at the hall of Belagroprombank (8a F. Skaryna Ave).
As part of the conference, official inauguration of the new office of the Polotsk tourist information centre will take place. The centre was equipped within the Bella Dvina project. Official inauguration will take place at 15.00 near the entrance to the new office of the Polotsk tourist information centre (Department of Physical Training, Sports and Tourism of the Polotsk City Executive Committee, 8 F. Skaryna Ave). Main aim of the Polotsk tourist information centre and tourist information points in seven participating districts of the Vitebsk region is to collect, sum up and provide comprehensive information about tourist resources, products and services of the common Bella Dvina region.

Bella Dvina project is implemented within the EU programme “Baltic Sea Region” INTERREG IIIB – Neighbourhood Programme INTERREG IIIA – Priority “South”. The programme aims to support cross-border cooperation between the border regions of Belarus, Latvia and Lithuania. Overall objective of the project is to contribute to development of tourism in the border regions of Belarus and Latvia through creation of a common cross-border tourist space along the Western Dvina / Daugava.
